Situation
Ms A was employed by a large corporation and was subjected to regular sexist, offensive and sexual remarks by her male work colleagues. Her manager failed to do anything about it. This made her unwell with stress and she went on long term sick leave.
What we did
- We advised her on her rights and assisted her to put the company on notice that she would be taking legal action if the company did not deal with it
What was the outcome
The company took disciplinary action against the perpetrators who were dismissed for gross misconduct. Ms A was able to return to work and was given compensation for the suffering she went through.
